Andrea Polli's Cloud Car, portraying the phenomenon of auto emissions in New York City by surrounding a Ford Taurus station wagon in steam and mist, was presented in two locations at different times.

The connection between the automobile, life and the air in New York City was demonstrated through Cloud Car, a Ford Taurus station wagon parked at the installation site and fitted with mist bars, hoses, pumps and other special effects equipment that produced a cloud of mist, enveloping car and rider.
The installation was presented by Polli and professional special-effects technician Chuck Varga. The mist bars and hoses were securely attached underneath the car, on top of the rack, and on the sides of the car (allowing front doors to open). The hoses drew water from an electricity-powered water pump designed specifically for the mist system.
