The event is a rare opportunity to learn about the profound influence that Japanese culture, in particular the art of Noh, had on Xenakis. Noh is a theatrical form that Xenakis considered to be a supreme artistic achievement as well as emblematic of his own vision in regard to musical drama.

In Luca Veggetti's words, "The participation of Japanese Noh performer Ryoko Aoki is particularly meaningful in this context as she embodies our aspirations in searching for the essence and meaning of movement. Sharing the space with wonderful young dancers from the Purchase Dance Corps, their performance will unfold as a ritual between musician and dancer, bringing forth Xenakis’ unique musical vision, as well as striving to find a formal balance between the powerful universe of the sound and the extreme precision and control of the dancers."
