Ear to the Earth Festival 2010
Schedule of Events
To see the Hudson River shores from the water is not only a beautiful experience, it also reminds us that New York is a coastal city, connected to the oceans of the world, and that the Hudson is one of the world's great rivers with a great heritage.
We're going to make a field recording of the trip. To hear the sounds of the boat and the water as we record them, and to receive a souvenir CD, will give you a closer sense of relationship with the river.
Dave Conover, Clearwater's education director, will speak about the sloop Clearwater and the historic Hudson River School. We'll serve soft drinks, wine and hors d'oeuvre. And if you'd like to record your environment, we'll help you make your own field recordings and present them on our website. The sail is from 6 to 9pm, Friday, October 8. The boat will sail from the 79th Street Boat Basin in Manhattan (79th Street on the Hudson River).
Space is limited so please sign up early. To purchase tickets, click on the following link and enter 'Clearwater sail' for how you want to apply your contribution.
